Social media has been buzzing this week with articles, campaigns, and simple posts about the year we’re leaving behind as we head into 2016. From hashtags like #2015bestnine to top 10 lists counting down favorite moments from 2015, everybody everywhere seems ready to close the door on a good year, while ushering in a new one, filled with new possibilities.
For Pitupi, 2015 was a whirlwind year. We expanded our team, settled on the cuts and designs of our current collection, launched a crowdfunding campaign, and found a wonderful group of women to work with in Albania. We also took to social media, and are rounding out the year with 600+ followers on Facebook, 113 new followers on Instagram, and 80 new followers on Twitter. What truly makes us smile when it comes to those numbers is they represent individual people- moms, dads, grandmoms and granddads, baby’s favorite aunt…you. We look forward to sharing our brand and our story with even more like-minded readers and customers in the months ahead.
So what’s in store for us in 2016? We’ll start the year off by finalizing registration here in Sweden (that task was recently checked off the list in Albania–go, Maria!), and producing our first garments with the GOTS-certified cotton that’s about to be shipped to our workshop from Turkey. These initial pieces were rewards offered during our Indiegogo campaign in August. We can’t WAIT to see the final results! Maria will head to Albania during production to offer support and oversee shipments to customers in Sweden, Germany, the UK, the US, and elsewhere.
Once production starts rolling, it certainly won’t stop. We will open up the webshop in early spring, making it possible for you to order pants, tees, baby bodies, and other styles for the little one in your life. You’ll also see Pitupi at local markets around the Oresund region this spring and summer, and we’ve got something up our sleeve for the annual #FashionRevolutionDay taking place in April. So keep following us on social media and on Pitupi.de.
We want to thank each of you for your support in 2015, and for all of the patience and inspiration that you have offered during this startup adventure. And so we say, skål, prost, gezuar, and cheers to you and yours and to our entire Pitupi community. Here’s to 2016!
